In 2003, we began fostering relationships with the remarkable people of Bluefields, Jamaica. On our first visit there, we were gifted the ultimate hospitality and gained a small glimpse into what this rural community was already doing - with meager resources - to protect its cultural and environmental assets.

We were enamored, and as we continued to cultivate and nurture these new relationships, our work blossomed into formal partnerships with Bluefields community development organizations - including launching a U.S.-based 501c3 non-profit organization in 2017 - to help support and walk alongside the community in their goals for clean water, food security, education and job creation. 

Throughout the years, as we hosted multiple volunteer groups to aid in projects, making an impact of over $200K USD within the Bluefields community to date, we found ourselves contemplating how to share this small piece of paradise with the world, while continuing to make a meaningful impact yet not overburden the community.
